An ex-pat in exile?
Well, the x-mas holidays are past, the new year has arrived and I'm still in Vancouver. long story short, the INS official who was supposed to process my TN visa application decided that I was intending to stay in the states permanently and completely invalidated my Visa application. So, Kerry got on the plane and I went back to her parents place in West Vancouver.
Now the waiting, phone calls and lawyer consults are the main focus of my days, and I hope to telework at some point - still waiting on some clarification on that.
Being in limbo is unsettling, but K's parents have been so wonderful and supportive and it is great having a place to stay while this all get sorted out.
More on the VISA stuff soon, I think NAFTA is done for, and H-1B is the way forwards.
